Skytek’s Revolutionary AI System Delivers Rapid, Real-Time Damage Assessments for Insurers After Hurricane Helene
In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, which recently ravaged coastal areas, Skytek’s cutting-edge machine learning system has proven essential in delivering rapid, accurate damage assessments to assist (re)insurance companies. With its advanced algorithms and real-time satellite imagery, Skytek’s system was able to provide critical loss data just two days after the storm passed, enabling insurers to quickly evaluate the extent of property damage and begin
recovery efforts.
Skytek’s innovative approach, built on its expertise in space technology and satellite data and machine learning analysis, transformed the way damage assessments were handled during Hurricane Helene. The system not only compared pre-and post-storm satellite images to estimate losses but also provided precise evaluations by incorporating real-time data, distinguishing actual damage from theoretical models. This was crucial for insurers, who previously relied on slower and less accurate traditional methods.
Key areas impacted by Hurricane Helene included Keaton Beach, Cedar Island, and the surrounding coastal communities, which bore the brunt of the storm’s powerful winds and storm surges. In these regions, Skytek’s system provided critical insights into the scale of the destruction, pinpointing areas with the most severe damage. By leveraging high-resolution satellite imagery and machine learning algorithms, Skytek offered insurers and local authorities a detailed understanding of property losses and infrastructure damage in these hardest-hit areas, enabling swift mobilization of recovery resources.
